Michele Nakazawa Selected As One of Three Finalists In Large Government Contractor Category
ASHBURN, Va. – November 9, 2010 – Telos® Corporation’s Chief Financial Officer Michele Nakazawa has been selected as a finalist in the Washington Business Journal’s Fourth Annual CFO of the Year awards program.
She is one of three finalists in the Large Government Contractor category, and one of 18 finalists overall.
“Michele is very deserving of this honor,” said Telos’ Chairman and CEO John Wood. “She has been an integral member of Telos’ leadership team during a critical time for our company, when we have faced tremendous challenges and simultaneously achieved remarkable successes.”
Nakazawa joined the company in March 2004. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Masters of Science in Accounting from American University as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Goucher College. Outside of her role at Telos, she is active is a number of organizations including 100 Women Strong, a non-profit organization designed to strategically leverage philanthropic resources for charitable needs in Loudoun County, Va. Additionally, she is an active participant in Sterling Women and a long-standing supporter of Race for the Cure.
According to the Washington Business Journal, its CFO of the Year Award is designed to honor the financial professionals in the Greater Washington area for outstanding performance in their roles as corporate financial stewards. Winners in each of seven categories will be honored along with the 18 finalists at a reception Dec. 6 at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business.
