Company’s Experts to Assist Center Ensuring Compliance with DIACAP, FISMA
ASHBURN, Va. – March 15, 2011 – Telos® Corporation has been awarded a new contract to provide information technology (IT) security support to the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC). The task order, worth more than $4 million if all options are exercised, was awarded under the Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) contract vehicle and will run for approximately two years.
Under the contract, Telos will continue its 12-year partnership with DMDC, providing information assurance professionals to support security engineering and security operations, as well as maintain the accreditation of DMDC infrastructure, information systems, stand-alone applications and automated tools in accordance with the Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance Program (DIACAP) and the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). Telos cybersecurity experts will assist DMDC to analyze new architecture designs, evaluate new technologies, recommend security enhancements, and monitor and respond to security events.
“DMDC has already demonstrated its dedication to proactively defend its IT resources,” said Rinaldi Pisani, vice president of Information Assurance at Telos Corporation. “Telos Corporation looks forward to helping them enhance their security posture even further by leveraging our intimate knowledge of their systems and procedures, and the expertise that we gained while working with other customers with similar security requirements.”
DMDC serves as the DoD enterprise human resource information source, providing secure services and solutions to support the Department’s mission. The organization serves as the central source to identify, authenticate, authorize and provide information on DoD-affiliated personnel. DMDC is the one, central access point for information and assistance on DoD entitlements, benefits and medical readiness for uniformed services’ members, veterans and their families.
Telos serves as a prime contractor on the five-year, $9 billion NETCENTS contract vehicle. NETCENTS is an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract that provides the Air Force, the Department of Defense and other federal agencies with a single vehicle through which to buy network-centric information technologies, networking equipment, and services, as well as voice, video and data communications hardware and software and telephony solutions from preferred contractors. NETCENTS provides a proven competitive edge for the federal government by reducing the time-to-market for critical networking and communications equipment and services.
Telos shares a long-standing and multi-faceted relationship with DMDC. In addition to the cybersecurity consulting work covered by this contract, the company provides Common Access Card (CAC) printer consumables and inventory management services to support DMDC’s identity protection and management programs under a separate five-year, $160 million contract.
