NETCENTS Task Order Includes Management, Operation and Support for Military’s Organizational Messaging Nerve Center
ASHBURN, Va. – November 30, 2010 – Telos® Corporation has been awarded a task order by the United States Army Information Technology Agency (USAITA) to provide Defense Message System (DMS) support at the Pentagon Telecommunications Center (PTC). The one-year contract includes one option year and is worth more than $32 million if all options are exercised.
Under the contract awarded from the Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) contract vehicle, Telos will assist the PTC with integrating, operating and maintaining a single, integrated DMS at three security levels. The PTC is the Army’s nerve center in the Pentagon for operating and managing the critical IT infrastructure related to secure, organizational messaging.
Telos will continue to operate and maintain the DMS, providing 24x7x365 customer service support for facilities in the National Capitol region and beyond. The scope of the work includes all functions, services and tasks associated with the management and operation of DMS at the PTC. These services support the PTC for all command and control messaging systems and associated infrastructure and interfaces located in the Pentagon and alternate locations.
“DMS securely sends and tracks official communications for command and control purposes, delivering secure message traffic from one organization to another, providing official orders or guidance to the receiving organization, and transmitting officially recognized intelligence information,” said Frank Whitehead, senior vice president and general manager, Secure Solutions at Telos Corporation. “It is the vital backbone on which other secure organizational messaging applications, such as the Automated Message Handling System (AMHS), reside.”
Telos has provided support to PTC for the last eight years. Telos’ partners for the base year services in this contract include Data Systems Analysts, Inc., Web Business Solutions, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and UHD.
Telos serves as a prime contractor on the five-year, $9 billion NETCENTS contract vehicle. NETCENTS is an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract that provides the Air Force, the Department of Defense and other federal agencies with a single vehicle through which to buy network-centric information technologies, networking equipment, and services, as well as voice, video and data communications hardware and software and telephony solutions from preferred contractors. NETCENTS provides a proven competitive edge for the federal government by reducing the time-to-market for critical networking and communications equipment and services.
