Xacta Flux Integrates Intelligence from Multiple Devices to Create a Single Integrated View of an Enterprise’s Security Posture
ASHBURN, VA. – February 29, 2012 – Telos Corporation has released Xacta® Flux, a cybersecurityvulnerability analysis tool, as a new component in the Xacta IA Manager® framework for enterprise risk management.
Xacta Flux integrates results from multiple security devices to create a single view of an organization’s security posture at any given moment. It also maps the results to the relevant controls for security and risk management such as NIST, DIACAP, DCID, and others. Security officials can then use these results to create reports for analysis and to understand trending security issues in their environment.
Developed to meet the stringent requirements of Telos cybersecurity consultants, Xacta Flux accepts configuration and vulnerability data captured from security tools that assess hosts, application servers, databases, and source code. Data that can’t be automatically captured can be collected using the OCIL-based Xacta Interview Tool.
Xacta Flux also features the TRAC System, or “Trending Remediation Across Cycles.” This allows security personnel to quickly re-test results and display trending of results over time to give analysts a clear picture of the effectiveness of remediation efforts. Output from Xacta Flux can also support the generation and management of POA&Ms, remediation plans, and test plans.
In addition, Xacta Flux includes a test confidence knowledgebase, a database that keeps track of false positive/negative occurrences on a network, which helps analysts make better decisions by knowing which tests consistently generate false results for a specific environment.
The capabilities of Xacta Flux in concert with Xacta IA Manager also support the continuous assessment and monitoring of information systems as required by NIST SP 800-137 and other standards. Working together, they enable security personnel to track the security state of a wide range of systems on an ongoing basis and maintain their security authorizations over time.
“A large enterprise may use products and services from a couple dozen different IT security vendors,” said Rinaldi Pisani, vice president of information assurance for Telos. “Xacta Flux gives these organizations a better understanding of their security posture by presenting results from these disparate sources in a format that’s consistent and easy to interpret for fast analysis and action.”
