Telos Corporation Offers Real-world Cyber Experience through Workforce Events and Internships

Washington, D.C. – October 24, 2018 – Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies is pleased to announce a new partnership with information technology and cybersecurity company Telos Corporation. Through the partnership, Georgetown students in the Applied Intelligence and Cybersecurity Risk Management graduate programs will benefit from joint cybersecurity events and training, and have the opportunity to engage in internships with a leading area cybersecurity company responsible for protecting high-profile federal clients.

“Telos is committed to developing the next generation of cyber talent, which is why we are honored to partner with Georgetown University on an initiative that will provide students with real-world cybersecurity experience,” said Telos CEO John B. Wood. “As a Georgetown alumnus, I am particularly excited to see this collaboration come together. Great things can happen when industry and academia come together to share their expertise.”

Applying theory to practice is common at Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies, where students and corporations reap the mutual benefits of instructing the next generation of industry changemakers. In the increasingly complex field of cybersecurity, providing a world-class education as well as hands-on experience is critical.

“Not only does this partnership offer the opportunity to engage directly with a leading corporation in the field of cybersecurity,” said Faculty Director and Professor of the Practice Frederic Lemieux, Ph.D., “but it also provides the possibility to train our students on real world problems and solutions.”
