Company’s Continuous Risk Management Framework Certified For Use On Army Networks
ASHBURN, Va. – December 16, 2010 – Telos® Corporation announced today that the company’s continuous risk management framework, Xacta® IA Manager, has been added to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)-sponsored Department of Defense (DoD) Unified Capabilities (UC) Approved Products List (APL). It is the only risk framework of its kind currently on the APL, reinforcing its position as the federal government’s premier IT governance, risk management and compliance (IT GRC) solution.
DISA’s UC APL is replacing the Army Information Assurance (IA) APL as the service’s standard approval process. This process consists of stringent testing by the Army’s Technology Integration Center to ensure the security of products to be used on Army networks.
“The addition of Xacta IA Manager to the APL gives Army users access to a proven risk management framework to help alleviate the certification and accreditation process,” said Rinaldi Pisani, vice president of information assurance at Telos Corporation.
Xacta IA Manager is a continuous risk management framework that automates and enforces IT security processes across the enterprise. It combines industry-leading security compliance and continuous risk assessment functionality with powerful process automation to establish a centralized IT GRC platform. As the federal government moves from compliance-based FISMA reporting, to a continuous monitoring and reporting environment, frameworks with proven capabilities to monitor the effectiveness of NIST 800-53 and DoDI 8500.2 controls become more important.
In October, the company announced that Xacta IA Manager, which is already widely used across all the military services, was recertified by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Program Office in accordance with the Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS).
