Examples of Xacta identity protection and management solutions include:

Common Access Cards (CAC) for the Defense Department
Telos is a key partner in the development and support of the Defense Department’s highly successful Common Access Card program, the world’s largest smart card initiative.  Nearly six million CAC cards are in use as part of the Real-Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS) program and the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) program.   These operational programs support resources/benefits management, critical defense missions, the Uniformed Services Identification (ID) Card program, and awareness regarding benefits to which uniformed services personnel and their family members are entitled.

Defense Biometrics ID System (DBIDS)
DBIDS is the largest physical access system in the DoD, providing theater-wide physical access for nearly two million base workers and visitors in Europe and Asia.  Soon to be deployed at some 4700 bases worldwide, it uses existing DoD-issued identification credentials, including digital photos and digital fingerprints, drawing on some of the largest stores of biometrics data used in the Department.  It’s scalable to cover a building, an installation, or an entire theater of operations.  The rules-driven system is configurable by local authorities to meet their business rules for access, allowing the level of authentication to vary by threat level or at the local commander’s discretion.

Deployable Evacuation and Repatriation Solutions
When non-combatants need to be whisked out of a foreign country, managing their identification and credentialing can be a challenge.  Telos has developed Xacta solutions that support the DoD’s deployable evacuation and repatriation management systems for these requirements.  Systems that Xacta supports include the Noncombatant Evacuation Operations Tracking System (NTS), used by military personnel to manage the evacuation, transport, and tracking of noncombatant U.S. citizens and third-country nationals after being evacuated to the United States from other countries. Similarly, the Automated Repatriation Reporting System (ARRS) is a deployable ID management solution used by the DoD, the Department of State, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Red Cross to track and to provide aid and support to non-combatant personnel arriving back in the U.S.

First Responder Solutions: Creating an Instant Secure Perimeter
In a disaster or other crisis, time is of the essence -- and so is site security.  Officials in charge need to seal off the area quickly to ensure that only authorized personnel can enter the area.  Telos is meeting this challenge with transportable and deployable “First Responder” Xacta solutions that will enable officials to establish a secure wireless perimeter in very little time.   Hand-held card and fingerprint readers link to a regional or central database that contains the data needed to verify identity, making it virtually impossible for unauthorized personnel to enter the area.
